J&K SICOP undertakes several initiatives aroundinformation technology under supervision of its separate IT Wing. The list below is a quick summary of some of the key activities.

Data Centre of I&C
In the process of J&K Industries & Commerce Department endeavor to bring in Business Reforms and Ease of Doing Business, Tier-3, ISO 27001:2013 Certified Data Centre having Data Security, connectivity and power backup has been established.It shall cater the IT requirement for collation of Data Servers of all Departments/Corporations of Industries & Commerce as well as other Departments/Agencies.

Udyog Portal
Following online facilities are available on the portal (www.udyogjk.com) :-

  • Online Registration of prospective Industrial units.
  • Online information about availability of land.
  • Online issuance of land availability certificate/Building permission.
  • Online application for Land Allotment.
  • Online clearance of Pollution Control Board and Power availability certificate of PDD
  • Online registration of Societies/ Partnership Firms
  • On-line tracking of the applications/ cases
  • Online payment of premium, rentals, water usage charges etc.

GIS Map Server of Industrial Estates
The Geographical Information System (GIS) with GPS mapping and Management Information System (MIS) have been designed to capture, store, analyze and manage the data in respect of all industrial Estates in the State. The information would be available on one click on www.udyogjkgis.com
The following information also be available on this portal: -

  • Location of Industrial Estates/units.
  • Information about availability of land in different Industrial Estates
  • Information about the individual unit activity and present status.
  • Information support for decision making process.

Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)

  • ERP system of SICOP to improve transparency, efficiency and deliver: -
  • Hassle free services to the SSI sector in the state
  • Streamlining the accounts of the corporation through a transparent manner
  • Streamlining of HR management
  • Streamlining of Project Management
  • Online Information regarding availability of raw materials in depots
  • Online generation of supply orders with MSMEs
  • Online generation of Testing Certificates

e-Office with Digitization of records
All-important record is being digitized to preserve, access and share information in digital form. Once digitization is complete, the manual file system shall be replaced by e-Office system. e-Office framework consists of e-File, Knowledge Management System, e-Dak Management.
The objectives of the MMP are:

  • To improve efficiency, consistency and effectiveness of government responses
  • To reduce turnaround time and to meet the demands of the citizens charter
  • To provide for effective resource management to improve the quality of administration
  • To reduce processing delays
  • To establish transparency and accountability
